CCCIA — Plan for Cancer Coordination
Congress is back after a month in the trenches, and during that time the rhetoric around healthcare reform and care planning has become more confused. Advance care planning for end-of-life treatment is one important piece of a whole spectrum of coordinated care planning necessary for people who have been diagnosed with cancer. Now is the perfect time to highlight that need!
Show your support for comprehensive cancer care planning by asking your representative to become a co-sponsor of H.R. 1844, the Comprehensive Cancer Care Improvement Act (CCCIA), which calls for better coordination of care and improved communication between patients and their healthcare teams before, during, and after treatment. We need a show of support from members of the House to ensure this important piece of legislation moves forward. Call or write your representative >> ___________________________________
What’s Your Cancerversary?
Many survivors acknowledge a significant date or period of time from the cancer journey — such as a surgery date or the last day of treatment — every year. On our Web site, you can create your own page to share your survivorship experience and let others know what cancerversary means to you. You can also create a page to honor a loved one who inspires you, or pay tribute to someone you’ve lost. Create your page >> ___________________________________
