Take Advantage of the Recess!

While your representative is in your home district this August, drop by and ask him or her to lend cancer survivors a helping hand by becoming a co-sponsor of H.R. 1844, the Comprehensive Cancer Care Improvement Act.

Make a Real Difference in the World of Cancer Research!

Bring your perspective and experiences to the table as a consumer advocate in the peer review process. The Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research program is looking for volunteers to join three peer review committees. Reviewers will evaluate research proposals and help choose which ones should be funded. Application deadline is August 14! Learn about the program >>

Healing Yourself and Others - Life Beyond Cancer

Spend four days at the luxurious Miraval Spa in Catalina, Ariz., focusing on wellness and advocacy through and beyond the cancer experience. Life Beyond Cancer is a four-day retreat for women cancer survivors and oncology nurses that combines workshops, lectures and group activities to help participants start or support existing services and advocacy programs in their communities for people with cancer.
